Youth
Voice
Amplifying Young Voices.
Creating Meaningful Change.
and to see the difference their voice can make.
Youth Voice is a Croydon-wide initiative delivered by P4YE on behalf of Croydon Council.
We work with young people, schools, community organisations and decision-makers to ensure that young people’s views, experiences and ideas help shape services, opportunities and policies that affect their lives.
Our mission is simple: Listen. Act. Feedback.
OUR THREE AIMS
1. AMPLIFY YOUNG PEOPLE'S VOICES
We create opportunities for young people to share their experiences, opinions and ideas in ways that are accessible, engaging and meaningful.
Every voice matters and every young person has something valuable to contribute.
2. SUPPORT SCHOOLS AND ORGANISATIONS
We work alongside schools, charities and community organisations to strengthen youth participation, share good practice and embed youth voice into everyday decision-making.
3. YOU SAID. WE DID.
Listening is only the first step.
We help ensure young people’s feedback leads to action, accountability and visible change.
HOW YOUNG PEOPLE CAN GET INVOLVED
Young people can influence change through a range of activities and opportunities including:
FOR SCHOOLS AND ORGANISATIONS
Many schools and organisations across Croydon are already doing excellent work to engage young people.
We want to learn from what is working, celebrate existing practice and help strengthen sustainable approaches to youth participation.
We can support organisations to:
- Review existing youth participation activity
- Develop sustainable youth voice frameworks
- Build participation into everyday practice
- Strengthen governance and decision-making processes
- Embed youth voice within policy development
- Create opportunities for young people to influence change
Whether your just getting started or looking to strengthen existing practice, we’d love to hear from you.
CLOSING THE FEEDBACK LOOP
Young people often tell us they are asked for their views but rarely hear what happens next.
Youth Voice is committed to ensuring feedback leads to action.
Our approach is simple:
You Said. We Did.
By working with schools, organisations and services, we help ensure:
- Young people know how feedback has been used
- Decisions are transparent
- Good practice is shared
- Impact is visible
- Trust is strengthened between young people and decision-makers
Meaningful participation requires more than listening it requires action and accountability.
LEADERSHIP AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Voice of the Child is also about helping young people build confidence, skills and leadership experience.
Participants can access opportunities to:
- Develop leadership and communication skills
- Build confidence in professional settings
- Learn about influencing and decision-making
- Work alongside community leaders and professionals
- Gain experience that supports future education and employment opportunities
We want young people to feel equipped not only to share their views, but to lead change.
YOU SAID. WE DID.
